The Reno Air Races are amazing!  This was our first time and we were there all day Friday and Saturday.  We had a great time and we'll be there next year for sure!

 After a heat race, "Rare Bear" had one landing gear that would not come down.  Steve Hinton in the Lockheed T-33 flew alongside to advise pilot John Penney on what he could see.  

"Ultimately, the gear was unlocked by trimming the plane, releasing the controls and slamming down force on the gear handle while simultaneously yanking the emergency release handle." John Penney's account

 Will Whiteside flew SteadFast to a third in the bronze unlimited

 Bill "Tiger" Destefani won the Breitling Gold Unlimited with a speed of 483 mph in "Strega"
